CODEAPS

Community Development and AIDS Prevention Services

Volunteer with us!

Both national and international volunteers come to work with CODEAPS. Volunteering entails living right outside the town of Nsanje. You will be living in walking distance from beautiful Lake Victoria. CODEAPS can currently house two volunteers at a time.

We are very grateful to GVN and the Real Uganda for their continued placement of international volunteers into our programs.

Areas of involvement include teaching at Katosi SDA Primary School, community HIV/AIDS prevention and support initiatives, medical care, information technology, and more.

Teaching in Uganda is a rewarding experience. The children are very welcoming and the teachers make you feel at ease. You will be able to teach English and reading classes and if you have a specialty such as math, science, art, or physical education you can teach that as well.

The community HIV/AIDS initiative work includes visits to community members, HIV testing, conducting seminars, counseling, working on income generating activities for the clients, and agro-forestry.

Medical care in the community will depend on your expertise, but can include anything from first aid in the community, visiting sick and HIV+ people, providing care, HIV testing, and working at the local health care center.

Information technology volunteers maintain and update the website, apply for grants, and teach community members computer skills.

You are welcome to volunteer in more than one area!
